Research on interseeding cover crops highlighted
Claire Benning, who is pursuing a master’s degree in Agroecology, is researching the effects of cover crops in single and multispecies applications on organic corn production systems in the Upper Midwest. Here she discusses how she came to UW, the benefits of cover crops, and the potential implications of her research. Her work, among five other graduate students researching organic agriculture, is contributing to mission of the UW Organic Collaborative which is a program committed to furthering organic agriculture through research, outreach, and academic training.
