Greg Richardson
Greg is co-advised by Dr. Matt Ruark and Dr. Erin Silva as he pursues a joint masters degree in Agroecology and in Soil Science. Through the lens of these disciplines, he seeks deeper understanding of soil health dynamics and opportunities for farmers to gain a competitive advantage by aligning their operations with natural systems. Greg’s research focuses on soil health measurements, biological carbon and nitrogen cycling, and how these factors relate to the use of best management practices – no-till, manure applications, crop rotations, and cover crops – on farms across Wisconsin. After graduating, Greg seeks to work with farmers in adopting regenerative agricultural practices.
